Bautahaugen samlinger består av: Gardstun, seteranlegg, husmannsplass med krambu og skolemuseum, fiskebu fra Vassfaret og en av de få årestuene som er igjen i Valdres. Til samlingen hører også en gammel kvern ved Hedalselva.
Bautahaugen ble grunnlagt i 1902, og fikk
navnet etter bautaer reist til minne om frihetskampene i 1814.
Her er også «Kongesteinen» og «Dronningbordet», fra 1905, og minnesteinen over de 4000 søraurdøler som utvandret til Amerika. Bautahaugen har en stor samling verdifulle gjenstander fra Hedalen og Vassfaret.

The Bautahaugen collections - Hedalen
The Bautahaugen open-air museum is located near route 243. The collection includes a farmcourt, mountain farm, cotter's farm with a general store and a school museum, a fisher's cottage from Vassfaret and one of the few open-hearth cabins left in Valdres.
An old mill near the Hedalselva river also
belongs to the collection. Bautahaugen was founded in 1902, and was named
after «bautaer» (stone monuments), memorials erected over the battles
fought in 1814.
You will also find «Kongesteinen» (The King's Stone) and «Dronningbordet» (The Queen's Table) from 1905, as well as a memorial to the 4000 habitants of Sør- Aurdal who emigrated to America.
The open-air museum has an important collection of valuable objects from Hedalen and Vassfaret. The museum is open for guided tours daily in July from 12.00 to 17.00.
